Who we are

The Young Lions program is designed for young students aged 7 to 11, combining traditional Kyokushin training with age-appropriate drills. It emphasizes character development alongside physical skills, instilling core values such as respect, perseverance, and discipline in a safe, supportive environment.

What they learn:

  • Kihon (Fundamentals): Proper stance, blocks, punches, kicks, and strikes, introduced gradually and built upon each week.

  • Kata (Forms): Simplified sequences to teach movement flow, technique precision, and body control.

  • Kumite (Sparring): Light contact drills focused on timing, distance, respect, and control—perfect for developing confidence without unnecessary risk.

Training Environment:

  • Taught by experienced black‑belt instructors (Shihan, Godan, Senpai/Shodan) who prioritize safety, respect, and encouragement.

  • Classes are structured around warm‑ups, fundamentals, drills, form practice, sparring, and a cool‑down with reflection—a balanced and engaging format.

Benefits for Kids:

  • Physical Fitness: Builds coordination, flexibility, core strength, and stamina.

  • Mental & Emotional Growth: Emphasizes focus, self-control, humility, and team spirit. Values align with Kyokushin's ethos—“self‑improvement, discipline, and hard training.

  • Full‑Contact Philosophy (Appropriate for Age): Introduced through controlled drills that remain fun and non‑intimidating.
